Un multimillonario sin escrúpulos (Alan Alda) ha estafado a sus empleados dejándolos sin blanca, así que éstos, encabezados por el gerente del edificio (Ben Stiller) en el que vive, deciden vengarse intentando atracar su vivienda, un apartamento de lujo situado en el ático de uno de los rascacielos de la ciudad.
